Should I buy a battery if my UTV clicks but won't crank?

Not automatically. A click/no-crank problem can be a weak battery, loose terminals, a bad ground, rapid relay clicking, starter strain, or something binding. Check battery voltage under load and the main cables before buying a battery.

First checks

  1. Measure battery voltage while pressing start, not just at rest.
  2. Check both battery terminals and the main ground strap.
  3. Separate one heavy click from rapid relay chatter before buying parts.
