Does clicking mean my UTV starter is bad?

Not by itself. Clicking only proves part of the start circuit is reacting. The cause can still be weak battery load, loose terminals, a poor ground, rapid relay clicking, solenoid trouble, starter strain, or something binding. Check battery voltage under load before replacing the starter.

First checks

  1. Separate rapid clicking from one heavy click before naming a failed starter.
  2. Measure battery voltage while pressing start and watch whether the dash dims or resets.
  3. Inspect terminals and the main ground path before buying a starter.

Your exact machine, year, trim, VIN when needed, and the part number are required before treating any starter, relay, solenoid, battery, cable, ground strap, or connector as the right fit.
